How to Get a Dog Unstoned at Home

How to Get a Dog Unstoned at Home : Dogs can be curious creatures and sometimes that curiosity leads them to getting into things they shouldn’t. Unfortunately, one of those things can be cannabis, which can have some pretty serious side effects on our canine companions.

If your pup has somehow managed to get their paws on the plant then it’s important to act fast and there are a few steps you can take in the comfort of your own home if you suspect any pet poisoning has occurred.

The first thing you should do is ensure they have access to plenty of fluids as this will help flush out any toxins from their system and keep them hydrated at the same time. It’s also important to monitor their breathing rate and normal behavior as this may indicate how severe the intoxication is. If for example their breathing is much faster than usual then this could suggest that an emergency trip to vet may be necessary.

It’s also worth giving your furry friend some activated charcoal which helps absorb the THC in their stomachs and aids detoxification (obviously do check with a vet before administering). You can mix this with food or place it directly into your pup’s mouth – although bear in mind that it has quite a bitter taste so make sure you’re prepared for some resistance!

Finally, if possible try and distract your dog from the intoxicating effects by finding activities or toys they enjoy playing with. This will help take their mind off feeling unwell whilst keeping them entertained at the same time – bonus!

At the end of day no pet parent wants to find themselves in this situation but it’s reassuring to know that there are steps we all can take when faced with pet stoniness at home. With a bit of timely intervention, love and care our four legged friends shouldn’t suffer too much and will hopefully jump back up on their feet in no time!
